Breaking News!

There are big changes afoot here at The Other Woman, and we wanted to share them with you. First up, many of you have noticed recently that the web site has been down. It's back up now, although without the store functionality and gallery of styles. There are several reasons for that.

First, we had to rebuild the Web site, and we're not quite done. We'll be adding gallery pages with pictures of our products soon. The second reason is that we've decided to take down the store functionality. Since everything we make is custom fit, taking orders over the Web doesn't make much sense for us.

Finally, we've decided to focus on Saint Louis area business. The model where we travel all over the country constantly to sell corsets just doesn't work for us anymore. We're old. And tired. That doesn't mean we'll never do another vending event, but they'll be few and far between.

In concentrating on local clients, we're also moving beyond corsets. We've always made things besides corsets, but the vending focus has been so much on corsets that the other work has been an occasional afterthought. Now we want to make fine dressmaking, couture, and costumes as important as the corsets have been for us.

So, the business is changing, and the Web site will be changing to reflect that. In the meantime, as always, please feel free to contact us with any questions you might have.

She's the babe inside, trapped by the pressure of schedules, responsibilities, and time's cruel march. She's the woman you become when there's time to be yourself. Of course, your inner babe may look good in clothes your outer babe can't wear anymore. The Other Woman makes corsets and boned clothing that restore what time and pastry have stolen. We provide the ladylike nip and tuck of the 50's cocktail goddess. You bring the attitude.

Although the classic hourglass figure has an undeniable grace and elegance, it is, like many feminine ideals, possible only in theory. This is why I like corsets. Put them on for special occasions. Be alluring and gorgeous. Put them back in the drawer. Have dessert.

When you order from The Other Woman, you're shopping to please yourself, not being force-fed only what pleases manufacturers and store buyers. With each piece custom-made to your measurements, you're guaranteed to have something that feels as good as you look.

Come join us, and release The Other Woman in you.

We don't vend as much as we used to, but we do still make it out to the occasional event. When we do vend, it's frequently at adult oriented venues. Because of the nature of many of these venues, any sites listed below may feature adult content. If you're offended by adult matierial or aren't yet an adult (you know who you are!), you'll want to be cautious about following these links. On the other hand, if life's rich pageant amuses you, click away.

February 16, 2007: We don't have all the information yet, but the Washington University Alternative Lifestyle Association will be sponsoring a Fetish Fashion Show, along with vending and performance art. We'll be participating in the fashion show and vending, although I'm sure there will be those among you who insist that we're performance art, too. This is all part of our efforts to do more in our local community (Saint Louis) and travel less.

If you can't make one of our events, don't forget we take fitting appointments in our Saint Louis workroom for custom work. We do corsets, gowns, bridal, special occasion, fetish, you name it. So drop us a line if there's something really special you want. We'll be happy to help.

If you'd like to reach us, drop us a line at sales@other-woman.com, or give us a holler in the workroom at 314-773-9500.
